Defeat, Face Series
I was painting this piece in hopes of calming myself down, but I was angry because I couldn’t put into words how I was feeling. I felt stuck. At a certain point I couldn’t really hold myself together anymore so I exploded. I broke my paint brush, and threw my hands onto the canvas.
The face revealed to me my true emotion, defeat.
The face series is an exploration of emotion found in color and expression. Each face was created to be intimate. After all, that’s the power of eye contact, true intimacy.
Size: 36” x 20”
